Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are home to some of the best boating and fishing on the gulf coast! Whether you are looking for a relaxing boat ride or an exhilarating fight with the fish of your dreams, the Alabama Gulf Coast can accommodate.
Just south of Alabama’s shoreline is one of the richest fisheries in the world. Alabama’s artificial reef program has placed thousands of artificial reefs just a few miles off of the coast. These reefs are home to:
- Red Snapper
- Vermillion Snapper
- White Snapper
- Lane Snapper
- Trigger Fish
- Amberjack
- And many different species of Grouper
During certain times of the year Wahoo and King Mackerel can also be found feeding near these reefs as well!
Yellow Fin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Swordfish, Sailfish, White Marlin and the highly prized Blue Marlin can be caught seasonally a little bit farther offshore. Trolling is the preferred method but live-bait fishing works as well.
